How do insurance companies use medical release forms to their advantage?

You have to be careful with those because a lot of times, and even when folks are represented by somebody who does it every day, I get these all the time, and they’re requesting just expansive records. It’s kind of a free-for-all. They’ll send you a general HIPAA release form. They can go get records from any and everybody as long as the identifying information matches, but they’re not really entitled to everything. They’re entitled to the relative medical records.
